Open House with prizes, demonstrations, blood pressure screenings and more

UNIONTOWN, Pa. – The 50th anniversary open house celebration for the Fayette County Career & Technical Institute (FCCTI), entitled Building Careers for 50 Years, will occur on Wed., Oct. 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The open house will be held on school grounds at 175 Georges Fairchance Road, Uniontown, Pa. 15401.
The open house is free to attend and the public is invited to join in the celebration. During the open house, attendees can enjoy light refreshments, enter over 20 free prize drawings and learn about FCCTI's programs for high school, post-secondary, and non-traditional students.
Prize drawings include televisions (two 42" Vizio and one 23" Vizio), an iPod Touch, a $50 Walmart gift card, free car wash, free car tune up, and 17 surprise gifts from each of the schools programs. Entering the prize drawings is free and attendees must present to win.
Activities include demonstrations of the new Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Simulation Lab and free blood pressure screenings.
"Since [FCCTI] opened its doors 50 years ago, students have been graduating prepared to enter the workforce," said Executive Director Dr. Edward Jeffreys. "We're proud to see them gain the skillsets necessary to enter their chosen trade."

WHO: Fayette County Career & Technical Institute was founded in 1958 as the Fayette County Vocational-Technical School. It now has a 600+ student body, over 15 high school programs, a Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program, and numerous other adult education programs open to the community.
